Blanket America Spreads the Word of Unity and Charity

With a goal to help one million cold and needy families all over the United States, Blanket America has made that first step into addressing the issue on poverty through its many projects.  Partnering with Gifts in Kind International, which is one of the most respectable charities in the country, Blanket America is determined to bridge the gap and clarify the gray areas between business and charity through its Buy 1, Get 1 model.
Blanket America is a charitable organization that aims to help needy families from all over the country through its main product, the Patchwork Heritage Quilt.  When President Barack Obama, in his speech back in January 20, 2009, vocally admired the American people for its “patchwork heritage” it sparked the beginning of a great idea and the birth of Blanket America as well.  And to be able to show to the people what charity is supposed to be, the organization adopted the Buy 1, Give 1 model in which a quilt bought is a warm blanket donated to a needy family.  Many have shown its support for the cause with big names like Fast Company, JC Penney, and Amazon.com showing their utmost support.
Blanket America has also partnered itself with Gifts in Kind International, one of the best charities ever built in the country.  It is recognized as such by Forbes Magazine and has helped one hundred companies by assisting in the distribution of goods, services, and money to communities in need of assistance.  With Blanket America, Gifts in Kind has offered to help distribute the blankets personally to poor families all over the country.
The product being sold is known as the Patchwork Heritage Quilt.  This quilt has the president’s inaugural speech printed on a beautiful background of Lady Liberty and has functioned as a medium to spread the word of unity and charity all over the country.  With 13 different yet attractive fabrics on the front and a beautifully crafted statement on the back, the Patchwork Heritage Quilt can be used as a tapestry for the patriotic or decorative bedding for one’s bedroom.  Prices for the comforters range from $59.99 to $99.99 depending on the size chosen by the customer.
Blanket America’s website has an interactive map of the USA that shows each state’s goal in helping the needy and the poor as well as the wishes, stories, and experiences of supporters from all over the country.  Visit the website at http://www.blanketamerica.com

Blanket America (http://www.blanketamerica.com), in partnership with Gifts in Kind International, is a new charitable organization founded on the goal to help the needy by donating one blanket for every Patchwork Heritage quilt sold.  The organization has made it its goal to help over a million American families during the holidays and is set to increasing that number throughout the year 2010.  With a creative Facebook page and an active Twitter account, Blanket America is able to gather supporters from all over the country to share stories, show support, and encourage others to join in the cause, Amazon.com, JC Penney, and other companies being some of its strongest supporters.
Blanket America’s main product, the Patchwork Heritage Quilt, was inspired by President Barack Obama’s speech of unity and strength with the actual inaugural speech printed on a Lady Liberty background.  This quilt is composed of two different designs, the front showing a combination of 13 unique designs and fabrics, which represent the 13 original American colonies, and the back which features the president’s message.  It is typically used as either a tapestry for the patriotic or a decorative addition to the bedroom.  The price of the quilt ranges from $59.99 to $99.99 with several promos and activities to compliment the project.
Partnering with Blanket America is Gifts in Kind International, which is recognized as one of the best charities in the country by Forbes Magazine.  Having done many charitable projects for over 150,000 communities, it has shown its support for the Buy 1, Give 1 model of Blanket America as well as for several other companies by assisting in the distribution of goods, services, and funds to the hundreds of needy citizens all over the country.  Truly it is a blessing that Blanket America and Gifts in Kind have joined together in making this cause a reality.
Join in this meaningful cause by tuning in to QVC at 6pm on December 28 and 7am and 2pm on December 29.  The Patchwork Heritage Quilt is also available from QVC at http://www.qvc.com.

Americans pull together for warmth this year

There is a new program which highlights the American tradition of quilting to spread our giving spirit.  Blanket America, inspired by President Obama’s inaugural address highlighting our Patchwork Heritage, is that program.  Read on to find out how you can become involved.

Americans have a long tradition of quilting to benefit our friends and neighbors.  Women have gathered to piece together quilts for new brides, new babies, new homes, and disaster relief.  They have spent solitary winters making quilts alone, drawing comfort and accomplishment from the act of creating a warm, beautiful keepsake.

Helping each other, regardless of our heritage or race, is the call to action from our President.  Using local charity and one to one programs like Blanket America, he has tasked us to come to the aid of our neighbors in need.  Women throughout history have given this kind of aid, the gift of warmth and comfort, knowing that these gifts are more precious than any others.

In keeping with this tradition, and honoring our multi-cultural heritage, Blanket America is making available a keepsake patchwork quilt with an added feel-good benefit!  With each purchase a blanket will be given to the needy.  The goal is to give away one million blankets through the program.

The Blanket America quilt is comprised of 13 different fabrics, representing the 13 original states.  Pieced together in the traditional patchwork pattern, the quilt is also decorated on the reverse side with the words of President Obama’s inaugural address.  This keepsake quality quilt will grace your home for many years, makes a wonderful gift, and bears testament to your spirit of unity and giving.

Stories and progress of the project will be reported on www.blanketamerica.com to help build the community of quilters and quilt lovers who participate.  Look for this site to be up soon.

The quilts come in three sizes, with matching pillows and/or pillow shams available to coordinate the set.  There is a lap quilt available at $59.99, with sizes available to queen/king for $99.99.  You can see that participating is affordable and the price for a quality patchwork quilt is very reasonable.

Help to make a difference this year by spreading warmth through the spirit of quilting and gifting practical, beautiful blankets to those in need.  There is no better way to give than a one to one program like this one.  You will receive your keepsake quilt and know that you’ve given a warm blanket to another family this year.

Please spread the word to your quilting and crafting friends about this great program and become involved.  Your help will build this program exponentially, and help us to reach the million blanket goal.

Amazon Affiliates called out to Help a Good Cause – Blanket America

It is well known that when a person takes pride in their country and rises to the call of action, their country takes pride in them. On January 20, 2009 President Barak Obama gave the American people hope for a new tomorrow via his inaugural address. He told the people that no matter what their differences, they can come together as one, united and strong, to help the poorest Americans through one of America's darkest hours. He showed the people that their patchwork heritage is one of their greatest hidden strengths, not a weakness or a burden.

In answer to this call to action, the Blanket America project was born. The Blanket America project has created a buy one, give one charity, helping the donors and the poor. Through the purchase of one Patchwork Heritage quilt, a new blanket is given to someone in need.

With the help of Gifts in Kind International, one million blankets will be given to the needy throughout the next year. Originally set to launch mid-January 2010, the Patchwork Heritage Collection is now launching December 23, 2009; just in time for Christmas.

Since November, the Patchwork Heritage collection has been available for pre-order through Amazon.com. JC Penny's stores will also carry the collection at its stores nationwide. But, more help is needed.

If Amazon affiliates joined hearts and hands to help this worth cause, so much more could be accomplished. That goal of one million blankets sold could be achieved more easily. It may even be possible to surpass this goal, providing even more blankets to some of the thirty five million Americans living below the poverty line. Joining the cause is easy. By going to http://www.blanketamerica.com and clicking on "get involved" stores can sign up to make a difference.

The Patchwork Heritage quilt features President Barak Obama's inspirational inaugural speech on its back, with lady liberty standing proudly in the background.
The face of the heirloom quilt is comprised of 13 different fabrics, uniting harmoniously to represent our 13 original colonies. The quilt shows us that we are all different, but when we come together we are strong, united and beautiful.

The Patchwork Heritage Collection features decorative pillows and pillow shams that are the perfect compliment to the quilt. Whether the quilt is used as a tapestry, throw or comforter, the pillows and shams will set it off beautifully. The collection is designed to fit nearly every décor.

So far, the only answer is that one king sized Patchwork Heritage Quilt will be raffled off within the next two weeks. Blanket USA is hosting the event and proceeds will go to help the project.

The Patchwork Heritage quilt was inspired by President Barak Obama's inspirational presidential inaugural address, where he stated that America's patchwork heritage is our strength and not a weakness. When we are all united as one, we can change America for the better. There has not been a time in recent history where our country has needed its citizens to rise up to the call of action. America's unity is what has brought our ancestors through this country's darkest hours.

The Patchwork Heritage Quilt is printed with this inspirational speech on its back, the lady liberty standing proudly erect in the background. On the face of the quilt, well coordinated and non-abrasive shades of red, white and blue in 13 different fabrics are united together to represent our 13 original colonies.

The Patchwork Heritage Collection includes decorative pillows and pillow shams. The decorative pillows proudly boast that our patchwork heritage is a strength and not a weakness. These pillows and shams match both the front and back of the quilt to perfection. Whether the quilt is hung on the wall as a tapestry, thrown on the couch as a throw, or laid on the bed as a comforter, these pillows and shams will set this heirloom quilt off to perfection.

Blankets - “Spread” the Patriotic Word

Blanket America launches patriotic blanket charity to preserve our American beliefs through our patchwork heritage.

Blanket America is more than a business that sells blankets. It’s also a charity. With Each blanket they sell, they give one away to a family that is in need. What Blanket America trying to do is change the way businesses work with charities. To bridge the gap between, a leap that isn’t too farfetched. They’re motto is simple “Buy one, Give one”.  Blanket America can only afford to do this with the help from all of us Americans willing to support one another.  Isn’t it time we helped fix our own country from within? To help people who need a lot more than most of us do.   With your purchases of these fine American products you can make that happen.

Blanket America was founded by Mesh Gelman who took many inspirational words from our Presidents’ Inaugural Speech, and began to campaign a way to not only boost our American economy but as well as provide a service to the American people which is un biased and without prejudice.  An act that proves the American way of life is still much alive and going as strong as ever. It’s our unity and faith that makes this country a great nation.  Selfless acts are one way to show love and compassion that is lacking in this world today.

We are in a recession as we were decades ago. We must unite in a cause like we did those many years ago. The great depression gave birth to many innovative ideas like these. Patchwork quilts are from this era and it’s not without coincidence that it’s the sale of these products where we will once re gain control with. Not only will Blanket America help spark the economy, but we will be able to supply the less fortunate with the necessities every American deserves to have.
