It is well known that when a person takes pride in their country and rises to the call of action, their country takes pride in them. In answer to this call to action, the Blanket America project was born. The Blanket America project has created a buy one, give one charity, helping the donors and the poor. Through the purchase of one Patchwork Heritage quilt, a new blanket is given to someone in need.
With the help of Gifts in Kind International, one million blankets will be given to the needy throughout the next year. Originally set to launch mid-January 2010, the Patchwork Heritage Collection is now launching December 23, 2009; just in time for Christmas.
Since November, the Patchwork Heritage collection has been available for pre-order through Amazon.com. JC Penny's stores will also carry the collection at its stores nationwide. But, more help is needed.
If Amazon affiliates joined hearts and hands to help this worth cause, so much more could be accomplished. That goal of one million blankets sold could be achieved more easily. It may even be possible to surpass this goal, providing even more blankets to some of the thirty five million Americans living below the poverty line. Joining the cause is easy.
